Waning Moon

If you look up at the La Luna on a waning moon, you can start to see her starting to wane her beautiful light. Slowly bringing her back into the darkness of the New Moon. Just as your body is doing with this next cycle.

The Waning Moon is connected to the luteal phase of your menstrual cycle. This is the week right before your period or bleed. You can think of it as a kind of a wind down time for your body.

This not the ideal time to go hard and heavy. Your body doesn’t want tons of cardio or exertion. It’s a time where you can start to move into the gentle type of workout.

Think slow yoga, long walks in nature, light cardio, light weight training. Basically any type of workout that isn’t going to tax the nervous system too much.

This is also a great time to start to tune into your body’s needs at that point in time. I’ve learned that month leading up to the start of your cycle is really going to guide the next cycle as to how healthy it is. Meaning no cramping, back pain and having a “normal” period for your body type.

One of the questions I get often is “how do I actually start to tune into my body’s unique needs? Like how will I know what I need when I need it?”

The answer is this:

Starting taking intentional, little breaks to check in with your body daily. Put a reminder in your phone at 10am, 12pm, 2pm and 4pm for example to stop. Close your eyes. Take a deep breath. And check in with how you are feeling.

How’s your womb space? How’s your energy? What do you need right now? Are you anxious? Are you sluggish?

These are the things that are going to help guide you intuitively on what to do next.

It’s a journey and it takes more effort than just finding a random a workout and diet plan and doing it.

The journey to feeling absolutely f***ing amazing in your skin is becoming more intuitive with your needs!

Awareness. Checking in. Meditating. And connecting to you on a daily basis.
